An original date, an afternoon with friends or nostalgia for the older generation? The outdoor ice rink will impress all generations and kinds of ice skaters. The most important thing is to have fun!

A tip for a trip: the ice rink and its surroundings

The unique ice area is open for all from 1 December to 18 February for free! From 9 AM to 9 PM. The ice rink of 20×40 meters is the largest in Prague. It can accommodate tens of sportsmen at once without any problems. The ice rink is open even when it’s not freezing; the temperatures, however, should not exceed 15 °C.

The skating area also has a heated changing room, rental service offering skates and helmets, and social facilities. In the immediate proximity of the rink, there are refreshment stands and tables with benches, too. When it’s dark, the area is pleasantly lit, and the visitors can enjoy the perfect panorama of the Prague Castle just like during the day.

Entertainment for the whole afternoon and evening

For three months, the ice rink at Letná offers an accompanying programme on the adjacent platform. During the advent, the programme includes St. Nicholas Day, carols, and Christmas markets. There are regular ice-hockey and other ice sports tournaments for children, various slaloms, games and obstacle courses which may amuse adults as well. You can commit your children to the professional ice-skating school care here, and enjoy your free time.

If you get tired of ice skating after a while, you can take your children and go to the nearby playground at Letná. Get warm in the Výletná restaurant a little further towards the Letná chateau or take a walk in the park and enjoy the beautiful views of Prague panoramas.

How to get there?

The ice rink is located opposite the Sparta football stadium, next to Milady Horákové Street. You can get to the Sparta stop by tram either from the Hradčanská stop (green A metro line) or the Vltavská stop (red C metro line).
