Take a day trip to the Prague Zoo, the fourth best zoo in the world!

The Prague Zoo opened its gates in 1931 and it is located in Trója – easily accessible by public transport, car or even a steamer.

The total area of 58 hectares hosts more than 150 exhibitions in 12 pavilions. There are more than 4,700 animals, including mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, fishes, and cartilaginous fishes.

Every day the animals consume approximately 600 kg of beef, 1,900 kg of hay, and more than 670 kg of fruit and vegetables.

One of the main objectives of the Prague Zoo is to protect the nature by taking care of the species and ecosystems. The zoo both rears endangered species of animals, and protects them in the place of their natural habitat. Some of the animals reared in Prague return back to the wild. The zoo also organizes educational and awareness activities.

The Prague Zoo is open every day of the year and you can also use its guide services. An experienced guide will answer all your questions and tell you more about the life, habits and moods of the animals. You can learn what they like the best, what relationships they have, or why tigers have stripes!

A visit to the Prague Zoo is a unique experience that you will want to repeat.
